Public Security in Noida Multiplexes

Public Security in Noida Multiplexes
1. We are a retired Couple in our late 50s with an Army background settled in Noida. Watching movies in Noida Multiplexes has generally been a good experience till now.
2. Lately, how-ever, we have had rather bad experiences. These unsavory incidents have been on account of the rowdy viewers and must be taken note of by the Noida Civic Administration / Cinema Halls Managements. It assumes even greater significance in view of the fact that the Law & Order situation of Noida is on the decline by the day.
3. Youngsters apparently from nearby Villages/ Colleges couldn’t careless about decent behavior in a Public Place e.g.

· Passing very-very Lewd Remarks.
· Loud whistles on certain scenes.
· Singing loudly along with the Songs.
· Constantly kicking the seats from the rear.
· Pathetic Cell-phone manners and so on.
· We have also been neighbors to rather over - affectionate couples who have just been intertwined with each other through out the movie.

4. Much that I would have liked to advise such like people to behave themselves; I have had to perforce restrain myself on each of these occasions to obviate the obvious – main being
the accompanying family’s and own Safety inside and outside the Hall.

· Once, I was rightly advised by the gentleman sitting next to me – “ In ke Mu nahin lagna. Yeh yahan ke Gunde hain. Kya aap Gurgaon type larai dekhna chahte hain. Aisa kab tak chalega. Kuch to karna hi chaihye. Management must do something about misbehavior inside its premises.”

5. The respective Managements of Multiplexes must step in to curb the menaces which are on the rise and will definitely get worse if not nipped in the Bud in its infancy stage. After all, when we pay to see a Movie in a Multiplex, we ought to be assured of an environment to include Cleanliness, Good Sound, Good Cinema Projection, Security and free from Public Interference which will spoil our Movie Viewing.

· Much that it is appreciated that Public’s behavior cannot be fully controlled by the Management, but it should definitely take some steps to assure the viewers that their viewing pleasure will be assured as it happens in Night Clubs.
· After all, our family’s interests must be protected. Just imagine the plight of Parent / Grand Parent when just next to their Child / Grand Child, there is hectic necking going on.
· We definitely do not take our Children to a Renowned Movie Hall to show them such like Live Shows.

7. We have since discussed this matter within the family and with friends also and there is only one opinion that is emerging i.e. the Management must give it a serious thought if it wants to keep its clientele intact. In any case, it should be a part of their Social Responsibility also.

8. Maybe, some of the ways to curb these anti- social acts could be -

· Display of Notices.
· Eviction Warnings – Audio / Video.
· High visibility of Bouncers with Placards to forewarn the potential trouble makers.
· Creation of a Help Desk with large notices in the Waiting Lounge.
· Etc, etc.

· We sincerely hope that the Managements will look into the matter so that Movie Watching in the Multiplexes continues to be a pleasurable experience.
